Going bush often means being out for a week or more, carrying everything you need and a few things you’ll hopefully never use. So we sized and built the Foray to handle proper backcountry missions. The kind where the track gets faint, the weather gets rude and the pack needs to shut up and do its job.
From Tassie scrub to the Snowies, the Victorian High Country and any other lump of Australian alpine country worth sweating over, the Foray is built to carry big loads without getting precious. Two ice axe or walking pole attachment loops and a crampon patch cover the pointy end of things when the trip heads into steeper, colder territory.
The Foray is deliberately simple. Fixed length harness. Single main compartment. No fiddly nonsense. That means less weight, fewer failure points, better water resistance and a pack that’s far more likely to still be doing its job years down the track.
The fixed length harness isn’t a compromise. It’s stronger, cleaner and built for long term use under heavy loads. Thousands of happy converts from adjustable harness systems have already done the arguing for us.
The main body is made from Ultra 12oz CanvX™, which is inherently water resistant without relying on an easily damaged laminated inner coating. Through the storm throat we use lighter C210n6 polyester Oxford, while high wear areas are reinforced with C1000n6 nylon for extra abrasion resistance where it cops the most abuse.
With a generous 75L internal volume, the Foray fits everything bar the kitchen sink. And frankly, you probably packed too much anyway.
